ASHDOD

Ashdod: On the coast between Tel-Aviv and Ashkelon, the Philistines carried the Ark of the Covenant to Ashdod (1 Samuel 5:1-6); it is one of the five city-states of the Philistines, a city on an important travel route. Phillip the Evangelist baptized an Ethiopian near here (Acts 8:26-40).
