1944 CMI

Christian Ministry to Israel exists for the purpose of proclaiming salvation in Yeshua /Jesus to the Jewish people first, and also to the Gentiles, according the NT mandate of missions given in Romans 1:16. Additionally, CMI is committed to teaching the Word of God that believers might be enlightened, encouraged, and equipped.

The Southern Hebrew Mission was literally prayed into existence in 1944 as Jews were experiencing and recovering from Hitler's reign

of terror and the murder of more than six million Jews, one-third of the total Jewish population of the world. The Southern Hebrew Mission began in 1944 as a befriending ministry of Jewish people with the Gospel of Yeshua. We came to be called Messianic Christian Ministry to Israel and are committed to teaching the Word of God that believers might be enlightened, encouraged, and equipped in the Holy Scriptures.

CMI exists to take the gospel of Yeshua to the Jews. The Apostle Shaul/Paul wrote that salvation has come to the Gentiles in order to provoke unbelieving Jews to jealousy (Romans 11:11). Our desire is to incite Jewish people to salvific faith in the messiah. The secondary purpose of Christian Ministry to Israel is to inform, equip, and encourage believers in Yeshua.

Christian Ministry to Israel is a 501-C non-profit organization that
nds entirely and exclusively upon God’s people to participate with them in the gospel of Yeshua to the Jewish people by tax-exempt donations (“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you…in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now” Phil.1:3-5). CMI is not exclusively supported or directed by any church, congregation, fellowship, assembly, convention, or denomination, though it considers itself to be evangelical in theology and missiology; its Executive Director and the its Board of Directors direct and guide the ministry in accordance to biblical principles.

Christian Ministry to Israel supports one full-time staff in the home office located in Chattanooga, TN, six representatives in Israel, ten representatives in Ukraine, and a music ministry in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Christian Ministry to Israel believes that supporting Jewish missions is (1) logical: "Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat the fruit of it? Who tends a flock and does not use the milk?” (1 Corinthians 9:3-15); and (2) scriptural: "I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity” (Philippians 4:10).

Christian  Ministry to Israel does not coerce anyone to give to its ministry. CMI offers believers in Yeshua who love Israel and the Jewish people, an opportunity to be involved together in the last frontier of evangelism and authentic, biblical, Jewish ministry.

Christian Ministry to Israel provides tax-exempt supporters with a receipt, CMI's monthly newsletter, and an end-of-year record of tax-exempt gifts given to CMI.

BIBLE - The Canonical Holy Scriptures are the Divine library, inspired, inerrant, infallible, authoritative, trustworthy, and God's full and final revelation to man.

TRINITY - There is one (echad) God eternally coexistent in three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit all three Who are YHWHshua.

Yeshua HaMashiach or Jesus Chirst is YHWH; Yeshua is the visible image of the invisible Elohim or God.

SALVATION - Eternal salvation rests upon one's faith in the life, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and High Priest intercession of Yeshua/Jesus for him, a faith that is both experiential and regenerative. Once regenerated, it is impossible to become unregenerate, as impossible for God to become unregenerate for one is saved by the incorruptible Word of God.

HOLY SPIRIT - All authentic believers in Yeshua are baptized by Yeshua the Immerser into the Holy Spirit, just as Yochanon the Immerser immersed OT believers into the element of water. The result of Yeshua's baptism is a "new man" that has resurrected from the old life immersed in the Holy Spirit. This is regeneration and the new creature bears the fruit of the Holy Spirit. The believer is (1) proclaimed perfect by the Father (justification), is (2) presently being perfected by the Holy Spirit (sanctification), and (3) will one day be perfected (glorification) like unto the image of the Son.

COVENANT - Yeshua's new covenant was made foremost with Israel (Jeremiah 31:31), and then the Gentiles (Romans 1:16).The Torah or Mosaic code has become obsolete as a covenant, due to Yeshua's new covenant (Jeremiah 31:31; Hebrews 8:13). Believers are become dead to their former husband, the Mosaic Law, because of their new covenant-marriage, and husband, Yeshua (Romans 7:4). We do not celebrate our first husband; we are dead to him and married to Yeshua.

SALVATION - The believer in Yeshua (1) was saved at a point-in-time of his/her regeneration; (2) is being saved, and (3) will be saved eternally. The Good Shepherd has never lost a sheep -not one! The Word of God is an incorruptible seed/sperm which gives an incorruptible life.

The CHURCH The kehillat or congregation of the Lord is the body of Messiah, the building/temple of God, the bride of Yeshua; the church is a living organism consisting of redeemed and regenerate believers who have been baptized by Yeshua into the Holy Spirit as Yochanon immersed into water. The church began on the feast of Pentecost in Acts 2 and continues until the church is  raptured or taken at the end of the church era. The body / building / bride / book of Yeshua consists of both Jews and Gentiles, male and female, bond and free, are now make up "one new man in Messiah."

ISRAELOLOGY – Biblical Israel has always been and now is the physical  and spiritual remnant of the descendants of Yacov or Jacob, sons and daughters of Yudah or Judah; these were first called Hebrews, then Israelites, and finally Yuhudim or Jews. True Israel is this physical and spiritual remnant people on earth, and Israel is also the prime real estate of the Holy Scriptures, the only land on earth called, in the Bible, The Holy Land

ECCLESIOLOGY - The Church, however, is not an ethnic nation, but consists of Jews and Gentiles forming a new man who is not geographic, but universal. The church has no interest in real estate, but are citizens of heaven. Most important, the Church has not replaced Israel. The papacy is not the new high priest, Rome is not the new holy city, the Vatican is not the new Temple, and cities of catholic (or protestant) churches are not "new Jerusalems." Christian church auditoriums are not sanctuaries, pastors and clergy are not high priests, and  hometowns of believers are not "your Jerusalem."

God has not cast off Israel. There will be a resurrection of the ‘dry bones’ to the exact land promised the patriarchs and their seed in the acharit hayomim or "the last days" and the Mashiach Yeshua the son of David will dwell and reign from Yerushalayim for one-thousand literal earthly years as the New Adam in Eden. WE ARE GOING BACK TO THE BEGINNING!

ESCHATOLOGY - The biblical truth of a pre-tribulation rapture or snatching of the saints from the earth by Yeshua is the doctrine of the apostles. Yeshua is coming for His bride, His body, His church, before the dreadful day of the Lord spoken of by the prophets.  The rapture of the holy ones in the earth is imminent, and precedes what scripture calls “the Great Tribulation” or "Jacob's Trouble." The bible further teaches pre-millennial eschatology, meaning the seventieth 'seven' (week) of Daniel remains to be fulfilled following the rapture of the church and prior to the Second Coming of Yeshua to the earth to reign for one-thousand years.  Following Messiah Yeshua's dealing with a reborn but unbelieving state of Israel for seven years He will come to save His remnant ("all Israel") and reign from Jerusalem on the Davidic throne over all the earth for one thousand literal years (Revelation 21,22).

The local church has a need of studying the Holy Scriptures with a Jewish perspective since our roots are Jewish. The local church also has a need of increasing their effectiveness in witnessing to the Jewish people.  Through effective evangelism Jewish people come to faith and then greatly contribute to the local church. CMI representatives are trained in Jewish and Modern Israel studies and CMI offers presentations, demonstrations, seminars, drama, music, and lectures of the significant contributions that Israel has made to our world. CMI publishes a monthly newsletter, articles, books, CDs, DVDs, and pamphlets all to to keep our supporters inspired, informed, and enlightened of our work and ministry.

Christian Ministry to Israel publishes a monthly newsletter that contains updates and reports from our representatives in Israel, Ukraine, Argentina, and the USA. The newsletter includes interesting articles of biblical prophesy, missiology pictures, charts, and maps, and also announcements of upcoming events or things of interest. You may email us or call and ask about our free monthly newsletter. We hope you enjoy keeping up with our mission work. Thanks!
